Deconstruction & You.


I like to use the word Deconstruct, and Deprogram instead of Construct and Program when talking about working on our physical, emotional and mental health because we have already been Programmed, its time to deprogram.


Our entire lives since the time we were born and can see our brains start to get programmed, with triggers, senses, memories, knowledge, hormones and feelings. Everything that we do, see, think and feel leave a imprint somewhere on us, physically, emotionally or mentally. Our brains and bodies have been overloaded with sensitivities and memories and everyone's is different. Everyone has been through their world sightly different, a smell triggers a different part of my daughters brain than mine. A word touches a memory different for you than me. Our precious brains have been programmed. Trying to program over an already existing program is hard and can leave gaps.


Now its time to deprogram, to deconstruct what we think we know. The obstacles I am talking about in this weeks Journal Prompts for members deal with emotional blocks. These blocks have been formed, they were not there once, and plan to return to when the blocks weren't there. You are perfect underneath these blocks, underneath these memories, triggers, and knowledge. The blocks are for all of us, coming from small or big events in life, they have programmed our brain and constructed our interactions to life. Deconstructing them is where the work lies.


Not everything needs deconstructed and removed, a lot of our programming is what leaves us with who we are. But all of it needs to be seen as what it is and used properly FOR us, not against us.


Now why should we do this? So that we may be of REAL help to others, live in a real way that is unaffected by the wrong kind of programming. To do this does not require endless time thinking about ourselves and in self reflection but instead very purposeful reflection so that we may then GET OUT of our minds and into life.


Yoga and meditation has helped me deconstruct who I was, and remove the wreckage that accumulated on me physically, emotionally, and mentally. And doing work, real searching for the roots of the wreckage.
